As you will be aware, the field of telemedicine has attracted massive attention over the last 3 -5 years. Much of this attention has centred on the area of the Doctor-Patient relationship, specifically whether a “face to face” consultation has taken place between the prescribing physician and the patient.
Whilst this remains a somewhat contentious area, we at ERMeds have decided to ultimately move to a consultation process that will require each of the patients that we represent to have at least a 12 monthly face to face consultation with one of the doctors we have introduced. The patient can then be followed up legitimately with that doctor throughout the next 12 months, where appropriate, by telephone. This ensures that our patients will be able to enjoy stable and uninterrupted service without the need to constantly chop and change and resubmit records.
We will be rolling this new procedure out State by State to ensure that we continue to offer the highest levels of service to our patients. Doctors will be based in the major cities to minimise travel time and costs. All other aspects of our service to you will remain unchanged.
We will be starting to contact our patients in Texas and Connecticut from mid-May to move to this new procedure. We will keep you informed as we bring on new States as quickly as possible. Our Customer Services team will be on hand to take you through the new steps and answer any questions. |
